The Pinellas Coalition to End Domestic Violence (PCEDV) and Fifth Avenue Mentoring & Community Outreach Services (F.A.M.C.O.S.) will host Empower – Educate – Connect, a free community health and resource fair in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from noon to 4 p.m. The event will be held at Fifth Avenue Church of Christ, 4200 5th Ave. S., St. Petersburg, FL 33711 and is free and open to everyone. The Domestic Violence Awareness Health & Resource Fair: Empower – Educate – Connect will bring community organizations together in one location to raise awareness about health and personal safety, increase understanding of domestic and intimate partner abuse, and connect individuals and families with resources that promote health, safety and wellness. Attendees will have an opportunity to meet representatives from local health, advocacy and support organizations and learn about services available throughout the community. The family-friendly event will also feature free hot dogs and drinks, a live DJ, a bouncy house, raffle item giveaways throughout the day and a non-perishable food box giveaway for those who complete their passport by visiting organizations at the event. PCEDV will also display the complete Frieda Widera Silent Witness Project, a public art project honoring victims of intimate partner homicide. It is the only permanent display honoring victims of intimate partner homicide in the state of Florida. It tells the stories of real families affected by intimate partner homicide with the goal of encouraging the community to remember, advocate and create change.
