Get ready for a weekend that blends the quirky, the family-friendly, and the festive across Tampa Bay. Whether you're tracking down oddities in St. Petersburg, catching a rare international soccer visit in Tampa, or gearing up for school with free health screenings, this weekend has it all. Wrap your days with craft beers, cozy coffee sips, and lively museum nights—there's something for everyone this July.
Kick off Saturday in St. Petersburg at 8 a.m. with the Back-to-School Care Fair, a community-focused event offering free physicals, dental exams, vision screenings, and backpack giveaways, helping families prepare for the year ahead. For night owls and night owlets, the World Oddities Expo in St. Petersburg starts at 2 a.m. and stretches into the day with live painting, burlesque, tattoos, and workshops — a great pick for those craving a macabre marketplace vibe.
Meanwhile, soccer fans should head over to Tampa where Wrexham AFC takes on Leeds United FC at midnight. This rare summer tour stop is a perfect chance to see international club action just after the 2026 FIFA World Cup fever. Later in the evening, stay in Tampa for the Grown Up Night: Crafter Hours at 6 p.m.—an after-hours museum event offering bag charms and trinket bedazzling with a digital detox twist, segueing smoothly into the Bolts Brew Fest at 7 p.m., where beer lovers can enjoy a variety of craft brews, seltzers, cocktails, and games right on the Lightning’s home ice.
While there are no highlighted Sunday events in this roundup, the weekend vibes continue with plenty of relaxing places to explore or revisit.
Take a break at Banyan Coffee Company in Tampa, where you can watch fresh small-batch coffee beans being roasted through a glass window—perfect for a mid-day pick-me-up. For craft beer enthusiasts, Arkane Aleworks offers a broad beer list that extends beyond sours, blending art, games, and rotating food pop-ups in a vibrant taproom setting. If you’re in the mood to stretch out and savor classic Bavarian-style lagers, BarrieHaus Beer Co. presents a spacious outdoor beer garden ideal for soaking up the Florida sun or catching an early evening breeze.
If the evening events in Tampa fill up or you want a chill alternative, consider heading to Barks and Brews Taphouse, where you can unwind amidst a dog-friendly environment paired with a lively taphouse atmosphere offering trivia, bingo, and live music.
For a daytime escape, venture out to Anclote Key Preserve State Park. This offshore state park features a historic lighthouse, calm anchorages, and plenty of room to relax and spread out on the beach—ideal for unwinding after a weekend full of action. Or for the water adventurers, Allens Aquatic Adventures delivers personalized boat tours with wildlife sightings, tubing, and wakeboarding to infuse some active fun into your Sunday.
